The administration of Robert C Byrd High School recently announced two Students of the Month each month for the first semester.
Student of the Month for September, Jackson Howe is the son of Martin and Valerie Howell of Clarksburg. He is Student Body President, Eagle Cabinet President, a member of the Swim Team, the Show Choir, and the theater program. He also has participated in Friends Feeding Friends and the Dream Team.
Jackson plans to attend WVU to study exercise physiology to become a pediatrician.
September Student of the Month Isabel Sophia Simmons is the daughter of Sarah and Jamie Simmons of Clarksburg. She serves as Senior Class President, SADD Club President, is the crew chief of the Show Choir, stage crew of the theater program, and a member of both the Eagle cabinet and the Dream Team. Previously, she was a member of the Mayor's Youth Council and the marching band.
Izzy plans to attend Fairmont State University; her major is yet undecided.
October student of the month is Tanner Evan Cook. He is the son of Robert and Jennifer Cook of Bridgeport. Tanner is a four-year member of the RCB Baseball Team and the student representative for the RCB, R-W, WI, Kelly Miller Alumni and Friends Foundation. He played for the American Legion Post 13 Baseball Team, has been named to the First-Team All-County Baseball, and is a member of the National Honor Society. Tanner attends Center Branch Church.
His future plan is to attend Alderson Broaddus University where he will play baseball; his major is undecided.
October Student of the Month, Michaela Marie Genin is the daughter of Mike and Stacey
Genin of Clarksburg. She is a four-year member and captain of the Girls’ Soccer Team, a member of the Young Progressive Women's Association, the National Honor Society, The Student Council, and serves as treasurer of her senior class. Michaela has been named to the National Society of High School Scholars, and currently has an internship with the prosecuting attorney.
Michaela will attend WVU to major in business with future plans to attend law school.
November student of the month Luke David Robinson is the son of John and Lea Robinson of Nutter Fort. He is captain of the Cross-Country Team, participates in Track and Field, and is skilled in Taekwondo. Luke plans to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College and study Sports Medicine to become a physical therapist.
Student of the Month Annalise Victoria Gentilozzi is the daughter of Tim and Melanie Gentilozzi of
Clarksburg. She serves as the Student Body Vice President as well as National Honor Society Secretary and is a member of the Eagle Cabinet. A member of the Tennis Team, Annalise is also a four-year member of the Swim Team, and editor of the Robert C Byrd Blog. She plans to attend college next fall to study engineering.
December Student of the Month of Salvatore Angerame is the son of Sal and Katie Angerame of Clarksburg. He is a member of the Dream Team, the Marching Band, Friends Feeding Friends, and the Dream Team. Sal plans to attend college to pursue a degree in engineering and possibly medicine.
December Student of the Month Sophia Freedman is the
daughter of Rodger and Yvonne Freedman of Clarksburg. She is a member of the Student Council and The National Society of High School Scholars and serves as National Honor Society vice-President as well as Junior Humane Society Treasurer. Sophie attends All Saints Catholic Church and plans to attend WVU to study biology for a career in medicine.
