'Once Upon A Time....'

by Sarah G.

Our favorite childhood stories begin with "Once Upon A Time" and mark the entrance to a fantasy world filled with beautiful princesses and handsome princes...a perfect theme for Homecoming and Spirt Week, the most magical time of the year! Whenever this delightful week comes, everyone is both blissful and in nervous anticipation for what the days, game, and dance will hold.

The story begins with Spirit Week, a favorite time for most to show their school spirit and fashion sense. The week contains Moana Monday, Toy Story Tuesday, Wicked Wednesday, Tweedle-dee and Tweedle-dum Thursday, and Spirit Friday.

Nutter Fort will host the annual Homecoming Parade Wednesday evening, Oct. 6th. The parade route will begin at Nutter Fort Elementary and end at the City Park.

Your Homecoming Court and their escorts will be introduced at the annual Homecoming Assembly scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 7th in the gymnasium. They include Freshman Princess Savannah Bishop; Sophomore Princesses Emma Swiger and Martina Howe; Junior Princesses Caroline Queen, Gabrielle Parsley, and Madeline Armstrong; and Senior Princesses Khloe Hazuka, Maelee Henderson, Kira Judd, Minah Moine, and Maddie Ford.

On Spirit Friday, each grade is assigned a color. Freshmen will wear green; Sophomores will wear white; Juniors wear blue, and Seniors wear black. The theme for the Homecoming Football Game versus the Lincoln Cougars is "Party in the USA", so wear your red, white, and blue. The Queen will be crowned at the halftime of the game.

Finally, the dance will be held outside on Oct. 9th. Single tickets are $15 and will be sold all next week.
