In the wake of global pandemic, students, teachers, and parents were forced to quickly defer to remote instruction and learning last spring. And now, it's time for a new school year, and as much as it can be, a plan for face-to-face, remote, and virtual instruction is in place.
Teachers begin the school year on August 18 having spent the summer, in many cases, worrying about their students, revising curricula and activities for remote instruction, and praying for the health and safety of the extended Byrd family.
Students will begin instruction on a staggered schedule for the first two weeks of the fall semester, beginning on September 8. Each day, one grade level will be in attendance with remote learning on their "off" days. After two weeks, a re-evaluation will occur, and depending on COVID-19 numbers, the decision for standard attendance, remote learning, or a continued hybrid of the two will be made.
Please be patient as the Learning Plan is followed. The safety of all our staff and students is the paramount, and rest assured decisions in the best interest of all will continue to me made.
