Students of the Month Selected


Robert C. Byrd High School announces its Boys and Girls of the Month for the first semester. Congratulations to them all!!

September Boy is Ean Giaquinto, the son of Eric Giaquinto and Shelly Giaquinto of Clarksburg. Throughout high school, Ean has been active in the Student Council where he presently serves as Student Body Treasurer. He is a member of the Eagle Cabinet, the Marching and Jazz bands, the National Honor society where he serves as Treasurer, and leads as the vice President of SADD. Ean plans to attend WVU to study history with the goal of becoming a lawyer.

September Girl is Adelle Thrush, the daughter of Parke and Lisa Thrush of Clarksburg. Adelle is an active member of the Student Council, Eagle Cabinet, Junior Humane Society, RCB Orchestra, WV Honors Orchestra, the Mayor’s Youth Council, the yearbook Staff, and the Cross Country and Track teams. Additionally, she serves as HOBY Ambassador and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has attended the WV Governor’s Honors Academy and volunteers at the United Hospital Center. Adelle plans to attend college to pursue a degree in environmental science.

October Boy of the Month is Matthew Howe, the son of Paul and Amy

Howe of Clarksburg. Secretary of the National Honor Society, Matt is vice-president of the Senior Class, a member of the Eagle Cabinet, Swim Team, Thespian Troupe 4846, Chess Club, Marching, Symphonic and Jazz bands. He plans to attend WVU next fall to earn a degree in mechanical engineering before applying to law school.

October Girl is Sophia Jolie McMillion. She is the daughter of Mark and Toni McMillion residing in the Clarksburg Country Club community. Active throughout high school, Sophia is Battalion Commander of the JROTC where she is also a member of the Rifle Team and guides the Continuous Improvement Project. She is a membe3r of the Eagle Cabinet, serves as President of the National Honor Society, and is a member of the Key Club, Student Cou8ncil, and SADD. Sophia plans to attend a university next fall to study psychology with the eventual goal of becoming a psychiatrist.

November Boy is Alex Stanzione, the son of Joe and Shayla Stanzione of Stonewood. While in high school, Alex has served as a Teacher Assistant and most recently designed the logo for the first-ever #ByrdNation t-shirt. He plans to attend college next fall to study criminal justice.

November Girl is Elana Marra, the daughter of Ann Marra and Robert Hoover of Nutter Fort. Elana is a member of the National Honor Society, the Marching Band Auxiliary, and has lettered in academics. She plans to attend nursing school next fall.

Boy of the Month for December is Ryan Longerbeam. , the son of Michele and Robert Longerbeam of Clarksburg. During his four years at RCBHS, Ryan has been a member of the Boys’ Soccer Team, the Football Team, and serves as dance and vocal captain of the Show Choir. His has performed in a number of RCB theater productions including “Shrek”, “Rock of Ages”, “The Wizard of Oz”, and “Newsies”. Junior Class President and current Student Body President, Ryan is also vice-President of Thespian Troupe 4648. He plans to attend WVU to major in engineering and robotics.

Girl of the Month for December is Mary Emileigh Boggs, the daughter of Wade and Chrystal Boggs of Stonewood. Mary is a member of the National Honor Society, a CTE Completer, and Honor Student, and volunteers regularly in the community. Employed by Harrison County Parks and Recreation, she is also enrolled in the Early Access Program through WVU where she intends to become a registered dental hygienist.
