Saying Goodbye to Byrd High

It's that time of year: the end of the second semester, and it's that time of life for members of the Class of 2019: time to say goodbye to a school in which they have practically lived for four years. The concept of leaving comes with mixed emotions.

RANDA ANDERSON: “Graduating is bittersweet. I’m beyond excited for this new chapter of life, but it’s hard saying goodbye to the people who have helped me grow, and the things that have forced me to come out of my shell throughout the years.”

MADISON KNIGHT “Graduation is something I always thought about but never actually considered. It’s bittersweet because while I’m beginning a new, freeing part of life, I know I’ll be leaving behind a lot of good things too. I’m thankful for the memories I’ve made, and I hope the lessons I’ve been taught will continue to come in handy."

KODY CRIPPIN I am kind of sad to go, but I've got good things waiting for me.”

SAVANNAH LIPSCOMB “I’ve made some good memories, but I’m ready to peace out. Bye sisters.”

ASHLEIGH BURNETT “I’m going to miss Byrd. My teachers, the other faculty, and my peers, but I’m also excited to start this new chapter of my life.”

MEGAN FURNER “It won’t feel real until we throw our caps in the air; then I will cry.”

ABIGAIL COOPER “Graduating is an exciting and adventurous ride. It means the rest of your life is coming, and you’re about to start your future.”

NATHAN BELLDINA “ See how far we’ve come? May we never give up!"

PHILLIP PAULEY “Peace out, Girl Scout.”

ELI WILLIAMS “I’m sadly excited.”

PAUL STOCKINGER “I’m glad it’s happening, but it’s strange.”

CHARLES MARSHALL “Graduating just hit me like a ton of bricks.”

Best wishes to the Class of 2019. May you always soar like Eagles and never forget the nest we all call home.
