Top Students for Second Semester

Robert C. Byrd High School administration recently announced its boys and girls of the month for the second semester.

January Boy of the Month, Caden Lucas, is the son of Christy and Antoine Lucas of Clarksburg. Along with excelling academically, Caden has been a member of the Soccer Team. He was selected for his care and compassion as a Natural Peer Helper and is an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Caden plans to attend WVU in the fall to study accounting.

Selected as January Girl of the Month, Gabrielle Madia is the daughter of

Alisha and Chris Madia of Clarksburg. An avid thespian, Gabrielle’s passions are music and theatre. She is dance captain for the Show Choir and Web Master and historian for the Thespian Troupe 4846. A member of the WV SADD Student Leadership Team, Gabrielle also participates on the Harrison County Dream Team and in the Key Club. She plans to attend Fairmont State University in the fall to study secondary education with an emphasis on English and Theatre.

Boy of the Month for February is Robert Frank Satterfield, the son of Jim and Melissa Satterfield of the Davisson Run Community in Clarksburg.

Throughout high school Franky’s passion has centered on percussion and theatre. He is a four-year member of the marching band, drum line, concert band, strings, and the Vocal Intensity Show Choir. Additionally, he has participated in Jazz Band for three years and is a two-year member of Thespian Troupe 4846. His percussive skill led him to be named drum captain for his senior year, twice to All-County band and twice to All-State Choir. His theatrical abilities were applauded as he was named Best Male Actor in Harrison County for his depiction of the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz. To Franky, the two accolades of which he is most honored are being invited to play percussion in the Christmas Concert with the 2459th National Guard Army Band and marching behind the flag-draped coffin for the Veterans’ Day Parade in downtown Clarksburg.

An honor roll student, Franky plans to pursue a career in music; his college selection is yet undecided.

Girl of the Month for February is Camille Sutton, the daughter of Rod and Sandy Sutton of Nutter

Fort. An active leader throughout high school, Camille currently serves as Student Body President, National Honor Society Historian, and Junior Humane Society Treasurer. She is an 8-year participant of the county Strings program, was a member of the RCBHS Band Auxiliary, and is a 10-year veteran dancer at the Studio of the Performing Arts.

Currently a part of the Teacher Cadet program, Camille plans to attend Fairmont State University in the Fall to study Elementary Education.
