The Boys' and Girls' of the Month for the fall semester were announced recently. Chosen for the month of September were Jimmy Hawkins, the son of James and Gwen Hawkins of Clarksburg, and Abby Wetzel, the daughter of Brian and Michelle Wetzel of Clarksburg.

Throughout high school, Jimmy has been very active in both the school and the community. A volunteer fireman at the Stonewood Fire Department, Jimmy's passion for golf has led him to be the team captain for the last two years. He is a four-year member of the baseball team and has participated in basketball as well. A member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Jimmy enjoys the bible study and attends the First Baptist Church in Nutter Fort. He is a member of the Chess Club and worked diligently as part of the RCB Anti-Bullying program. Jimmy plans to attend Elon University in North Carolina to study Business.

While in high school, Abby, too, has been quite active. A leader both in the classroom and on the

volleyball court, she serves as team captain. Her leadership skills are also evident as she is vice-president of the National Honor Society as well as the FFA, and she is president of the Future Teachers of America. Abby plans to attend WV Wesleyan College in the fall to study Education and continue playing volleyball.

Selected as October Boy and Girl of the Month are Tanner Kennedy and Sophie Banko.

Tanner, the son of Leatriona and Tom Kennedy of Clarksburg, is a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Varsity Basketball Team and the Student Council. He plans to attend West Virginia University following graduation.

Sophie, the daughter of Jennifer and Andrew Banko of Clarksburg, is a

member of the State Champion RCB Cheer Team, the National Honor Society, the Girls' Basketball Team, and the NCA All-Star Cheerleaders. A member of the Student Council, Sophie participates in the Book Club and is an Eagle Mentor. She was named WV Metro Scholar-Athlete of the Week and is credited with 4 AP courses.

A member of the St. James Catholic Church, Sophie plans to attend college after graduation to study pre-law.
