New Faces

Adding energy to the second floor, new English teacher Ryan Turner joined the faculty. He is a 2010 graduate from there in 2010. After high school, he went to West Virginia University where he graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and a Master's Degree in Secondary Education. After graduating from WVU, Mr. Turner taught at Oak Hill High School for three years where he also worked with the theatre department. Along with teaching he states that writing is definitely one of his areas of expertise, he's even hoping to make a career out of writing "If he can finish the novel Ive's been working on." He likes being part of the Byrd family and quickly saw that they we a friendly group of people who encourage and support another.

Speaking of family, Mr. Turner's family includes his parents, his sister, and his dog, Ayra, who is "a bearded collie and rotten as can be." He lives his life by the words of Hunter S. Thompson, "Buy the ticket, take the ride."
