Jan Sandridge is one of the new teachers here at Byrd. Ms. Sandridge she received her degree in Math Education at Glenville State College and later attended Salem University where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Ms. Sandridge's expertise lies in Mathematics, grades 5-Adult with an extra certification to teach AP Calculus. Before she came to Byrd, she also taught at Pressley Ridge, Richie County High School, and Doddridge County High School. Though she has no children of her own, Ms. Sandridge chose to be a teacher because she likes teenagers and enjoys making a difference in their lives. Ms. Sandridge wanted to get back into public schools after teaching at a placement facility and thought this would be a good match for her, which it has been. She lives her life through these words: "As you travel through this life, there are 5 things you must take care of: of what you speak, to whom you speak to, and how, and when, and where you speak."
