APRIL'S TOP TWO

Robert C. Byrd High School announces the Boy and Girl of the Month for April.

Boy of the Month is Norman Junkins III (Tre), the son of Norm and Lillie Junkins of Clarksburg.

Throughout high school Tre has been both a scholar and an athlete. Ranked in the upper third of his graduating class, Tre is a three-sport athlete.

Ending his freshman year named to the Baseball Honorable Mention team. He is a 3-time member of the All County Baseball Team and went on to be named on two occasions to the All State Baseball 2nd Team. He also held the state lead in batting averages during his junior year. In Basketball, Tre was named on two occasions to the All County team and earned 2nd Team All-State honors his junior year. A 3-time member of the All County Football team, he also earned All State Selection Football honors his sophomore, junior, and senior years.

Tre plans to attend college in the fall to study energy and land management.

Girl of the Month is Casey Kylene Underwood, the daughter of Bill and Michele Underwood of

Clarksburg.

Casey, a well-rounded young lady, has had varied interests and honors throughout her high school experience. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Eagle Cabinet, Key Club, Student Council, and Interact. A 3-year band member, Casey’s true passion is soccer, and she has been named to Big 10, All County, and All State teams, served 2 years as captain, and is a member of the 2017 State Championship Team. She continues to play soccer year-round on travel team centered in Morgantown.

Maintaining 4.2 GPA, Casey is a hospital volunteer and a member of the Duff Street United Methodist Church. She plans to continue her soccer career at WV Wesleyan College where she will study nursing.
