Congratulations!

RCBHS is home to a number of outstanding students, in a variety of areas. For some, their passion for writing allows them to excel. Praised for their writing abilities are Aiden Watson- 1st place, Lennon Auvil- 2nd place, and Erin Arnett 3rd place in the "Halloween in the Hills" writing contest.

Leadership and service is also recognized, as Mike Utt received the WV Student Leadership Council Award.

If you're a student artist, "Crimtopia", as the art room is fondly called, was the site for Joey Angerame as he won 1st place in the "How to be an Artist" calligraphy/ collage. In the WVU cut paper self portrait competition half of the awards received were presented to RCB artists.

In Division 1 for 11-12 grade, Janiah Williams and Lura Simons received Merit Awards; Ashton McKane was named Honorable Mention. In Division 2 for 9-10 grade, Kalie Gower received a Merit Award, Gia Marshall received 3rd place, and Alexis Brannon earned 1st place! In the WV Wesleyan 5th Annual Juried High School Art Exhibition, 45 pieces out of 280 submissions by junior and senior artists were accepted. Among those were Lura Simons: "Broken Petals" a collage; David Hooper, Faculty Choice Award: "American Born" a pencil drawing; Zorian Misner, Merit Award: "Arachnid" Acrylic canvas; Alyssa Shanholtz, Merit Award: "All Natural" pastel; Riley Spears, Merit Award: "Trickle Down Economics" a stencil.

Jimmy Hawkins competed in the Clarksburg Country Club Junior Callaway Tour Golf Tournament where he was a medalist, placing in third with a final score of 75 in the 18-hole match.

These students studied hard and came out on top when it came to the ACT, Juniors: Alanna Lowther and Alex Hummel along with Seniors: Matthew Strange and Stephanie Atkinson Sacra, had the highest ACT Composite Scores within RCBHS.

Jaden Marino fought hard in the Big 10 Wrestling Championship, in which he won in his weight division. That's certainly one way to "fight" the competition.

The Swim team performed beautifully at the Region 3 Championship Meet on Saturday. Out of 13 teams, the boys' finished in 3rd place, the girls' team also finished in 3rd place, and the team finished in 4th place overall. The top three swimmers in each of the events, will automatically go to the WV State Swim Meet. After compiling the top three finishers from the four Regions, the next 12 top times will also go to the State Meet. RCBHS had automatic State qualifiers like; Sophomore Zac Basler, who was the Region 3 Champion in the 200 free; Senior Nathan Fubio, who finished 2nd in the 50 free and 100 free; Junior Gabriel Howe, who finished 2nd in the 100 fly; Sophomore Gabriella Iquinto- Jones, who finished 3rd in the 200 IM and 100 fly; and the boys' 400 Free Relay, which was made of Nathan Fubio, Zac Basler, Gabriel Howe and Sophomore Matthew Howe, who finished in 2nd place. Along with those State qualifiers others include: The girls' 200 Medley Relay which was made up of Junior Brooke Leaseburg, Sophomore Alexis Brannon, Gabriella Iquinto- Jones, and Sophomore Riley Cutlip; Gabriel Howe in the 200 IM; Zac Basler in the 100 Fly; the boys' 200 Free Relay is made up of Nathan, Matthew, Zac, and Gabriel
