Perhaps the most anticipated theater event of this school year is the school's annual production. The musical chosen this year is the Wizard of Oz . Auditions, for the play were held the second week of December, the 11th-15th, and the play will be performed in April. This is the first year that auditions were open to any RCB feeder school, grades Kindergarten and up. Also for the first time in the Theater Department's history, this production will involve flying. A company from Louisville, Kentucky, will bring in the equipment and hold a three day training session, to teach the crew members how to safely operate the equipment. One more exciting aspect of the play is that they will be using a rescue dog from the Harrison County Humane Society, to play the role of Dorothy's dog, Toto.
In an effort to help defray the enormous cost of renting the flying apparatus, the thespians will be holding a quarter auction later this month. Watch for details!
