Robert C. Byrd welcomed a few new faces for the 2017-18 school year. One of those new faces is new to the students, but not new to the school itself. RCB Alumnus Ryan Criss is our new PRO, and he is really enjoying his first year at Byrd High in this capacity.
Officer Criss's mission for his time here is to have an impact on the lives of young adults. He stated, "It's been an interesting experience so far."
When he is not working here at the school, he likes to spend time with his son and the rest of his family. He also tries to keep active and stay in shape in his free time.
PRO Criss's goal for the teenagers that he works with is to teach them about different subjects related to real life. One thing he really likes about Byrd is the people. The staff and the students are welcoming, but his favorite thing is being able to interact and affect teen lives. You'll see him patrolling the hallways when he's not in his office, as well as talking with classes about important issues. Most recently he spoke with the Teacher Cadet class about the role of a police officer in our public schools.
Robert C. Byrd High School Eagles have already taken him under our wing.
