Serving in Celebration

A new trend in Cancer Centers around the country is a “celebration” when a patient has reached the conclusion of their chemotherapy treatments. Instituted recently at UHC, when the patient receives their last treatment, it will take place in a “Celebration” chair. Patients will then be rewarded with a certificate, rubber bracelet, and candy bag, and a commemorative photo will be placed on the walls of the “Celebration” room.

Members of the RCB chapter of the National Honor Society were thrilled to be a part of this Celebration program, and provided 35 regular standard candy bags as well as 15 additional bags with sugar free varieties. Candy was donated by members of the group, sponsored by Mrs. Rhonda Reed.

UHC Project Coordinator Maggie Lowther, Ethan Meighen, Mica Giaquinto, Anna Lucas, Lily McCracken, Stephanie Sacra, Emilio Buffey display the candy bag donations.
