The spring sport season is coming to a close, and that means States is just around the corner, especially for the Robert C. Byrd Tennis Team. This co-ed group of students has an extremely short season, lasting for only two and a half months. They’ve only been together for a short time, but they are ready to go win a state title for Byrd.
Before states, the team has to participate in Big 10 and Regionals, falling on April 28 and 29, and May 1-5, respectively. If the team wins, they go to states in Charleston from May 11 to 13.
“I believe that these kids have some serious potential,” Coach Scott Davis shared. “They’ve shown some serious improvement from the beginning and I think they have a chance.” Davis has been with these students from the beginning and he has helped them throughout the season.
