January, February and March Boy and Girl of the Month

Robert C. Byrd High School recently announced its Boys and Girls of the Month for the second semester.

Girl of the Month for January is Tannah Cox. She is the granddaughter of Deidra Cox and Kencil Watson of Clarksburg. While in high school, Tannah has been an active member of the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team and served on the stage crew for the show choir. Tannah plans to attend Fairmont State University to study physical therapy or athletic training.

Boy of the Month for January is Caden Wetzel. He is the son of Brian and Michelle Wetzel from the Stealey section of Clarksburg. Caden has been a member of the baseball team for four years, a member of the football team, the FFA, and serves as FBLA Treasurer this year. A member of the First Baptist Church of Nutter Fort, Caden plans to attend Alderson Broaddus University to study nursing.

Girl of the Month for February is Kassidee Forinash, the daughter of Kim Forinash of Quiet Dell. Throughout high school Kassidee has been a four-year member of the Flying Eagles Marching Band, a member of the All State Band, the All County Band, the WVU Honors Band, and the Alderson Broaddus Honor Band. A member of the Freedom Southern Baptist Church where she participates in Acteen, Kassidee plans to attend WVU to study music education.

February’s Boy of the Month is Bryce Childers, the son of Billy and Janet Childers of Stonewood. Active throughout high school, Bryce has been a member of the Football, Soccer, Basketball, Golf, Track, Baseball, and Swim and Cross Country Teams. He was named to the Cross Country Big Ten, All-County, and Regional top Ten teams. Bryce plans to attend college in the fall to study Biology.

March Girl of the Month is Alexan Gianna Watt, the daughter of Barbie Clutter of Clarksburg and Cordell Watt of Winchester, VA. Throughout high school Gia has been involved in cheerleading, and was member of the Big Ten, Regional, and Class AA Cheerleading State Champion Team for two years. A representative at Rhododendron Girls’ State, she has been involved in SADD, Student Council, Clarksburg Crazies where she served as Student Section Leader, Student Body Treasurer, and RAZE. Gia is head anchor for the school television show Byrd’s Eye View, and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. She plans to attend WVU in the fall to study Broadcast Journalism.

March Boy of the Month is Nathaniel David LeFevre, the son of Phil and Kim LeFevre of Clarksburg. An athlete, Nate was a member of the Basketball and Golf Teams, as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He also participates in the Eagle Mentor Program at the local elementary school. Nate plans to attend Fairmont State University to pursue a degree in Information Management Systems.
