The Humane Society is an organization of animal shelters all over the United States that are owned by the county or state in which they are located. Because The Humane Society is a non-kill shelter, meaning they do not put any animals to sleep, they need to take such great care of the future pets. Luckily MCM Business, a local office supply establishment, stepped up to help.
“MCM considers it an honor to participate in the Pound for Pound challenge with the Humane Society of Harrison County, especially teaming up with the county schools like Robert C Byrd, Bridgeport and Liberty. It is because of our partnership with the communities and the schools that we were able to provide enough food for the animals for the entire year,” said MCM owner Roger J Lehosit.
Not only did they donate a great amount, they did it in a pound for pound challenge, so all through the month of December, any amount of food, toys, or cleaning supplies the community donated, MCM matched that exact amount, and donated it along with them. “The MCM Pound for Pound challenge provides us with enough food so that we don’t have to use our nominal funds for buying food. Instead we can use that funding to focus on more veterinary care for our animals. 2016 was incredible as we received far more than last year which should sustain us through 2017,” explained Frankie Dennison, director of the Harrison County Human Society.
