RCB offers its students a plethora of opportunities and continues to add to the selection every year. This year a big step forward the school has taken in the academic opportunities it provides is introducing dual-credit classes. These are classes for the student looking to get ahead of the curve and gain some college credit hours before even stepping out of high school. If you successfully complete and pass the class you will not only get the high school credit you’ve earned but also a college credit for the same class from WVU. The classes are offered through WVU, so the curriculum follows the WVU syllabus and material. These are actual college classes that WVU students currently take also on campus, so the classes are more challenging than just a normal high school class. Teachers remind you to keep that in mind when you sign-up and realize this opportunity is also a responsibility, but still encourage you to sign-up because it is a great chance to earn credits for your potential future major while still in high school.
To take any courses through WVU there is a fee of $75. This is a one-time enrollment fee and allows you to take any and all classes at WVU. RCB does not charge any additional fees for classes, the $75 is all you will have to pay. There are several different courses available at the school, including algebra, trigonometry, biology, info 1100, and a public relations class. There are also numerous other classes available online that students can take during a free block or on their own time. This is a great opportunity that should not be passed up!
