Formal Rent Store

Anna The Cinderella story of swirling ball gowns, sparkling jewelry, and beautiful music can be yours. With homecoming less than a month away, the Robert C. Byrd Formal Rent Store can make this fairytale a reality. Sponsor Ms. Skubis was inspired to undertake this project after the previous sponsor retired. “I watched my parents struggle with getting gowns for my dances,” she states. Her love of fashion and dedication to hard work has also inspired her. “I worked at Fashion Bug for six years while going through college.”

This opportunity, exclusive to RCB students, allows students to wear expensive designer dresses and suits, some new with tags, for only $5. The deal gets a little sweeter because if the garment is free of rips, stains, or other signs of negligence, the $5 is returned. You can wear your dream dress or suit for free! Shoes, ties, and jewelry are also available for rent.

Are you interested? See Ms. Skubis to schedule an after-school appointment or two days a week during lunch starting September 15th. Anyone size two to twenty-two has the chance to feel beautiful, and appointments can be anonymous.

Do you already have a dress but feel inspired to help? The Formal Rent Store is currently in need of men’s shoes and clothing and women’s shoes. Check out the Facebook page by searching “Robert C. Byrd High School Formal Rent Store” and make your Cinderella dream come true, minus the mice in clothes and pumpkin carriage, of course.
